What is The Mom Parts Method?

The Mom Parts Method is a 5 step IFS-informed process developed by Jessica Tomich Sorci, LMFT, PMH-C:

Step 1

Finding Your Mom Parts

Through inward focusing, notice which Mom Parts are present and needing care and attention.

Step 2

Naming Your Mom Parts

Give your parts a descriptive name and get curious about their role in your system.

Step 3

Uncovering Truths

Validate and witness what your parts have been carrying.

Step 4

Moving Closer to the Inescapable Vulnerabilities

Touch into the grief or shame underneath your protective parts.

Step 5

Identifying Remedies

Access your Inner Mom's resources and offer your parts what they're needing most.

KAP OVERVIEW

What Is KAP?

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, or KAP, combines prescribed ketamine with therapeutic support.

KAP may help create enough space to notice parts and patterns with more curiosity and less urgency.

A supported therapeutic process

KAP is facilitated by trained clinicians and used only when it is clinically and medically appropriate. The medicine experience is paired with preparation, guided support, and integration.

More room to observe

KAP may support a sense of distance from familiar thoughts, defenses, or emotional reactions. That space can make it easier to notice what is happening inside without becoming completely consumed by it.

MOM PARTS METHOD + KAP

Why the Mom Parts Method + KAP?

The Mom Parts Method gives the KAP experience a clear map:

notice and name the parts that arrive, meet them with curiosity and validation, and offer them a remedy that would best support them.

This framework supports the process before, during, and after a KAP session.

Supporting Unblending

The method helps you recognize when a Mom Part is taking over, without judging it or forcing it to change.

Respecting Protectors

Protective parts are not treated as problems. They are approached with pacing, consent, and respect.

Returning to Self

KAP can help facilitate connection with your Inner Mom energy (referred to as Self in IFS) while staying attuned to the parts that are trying to protect you from feeling grief and shame.
